Frequency Legend for Nyquist EQ
As you may well know, I have recommended Nyquist Parametric Equalizer all over this site. Why? Because it is free and it performs better than most high dollar parametric plug-ins. It also works without a glitch on any host program I have tried it with. Some of the drum sounds you hear on this web site would not be possible without it.
Users who have taken my advice and downloaded Nyquist EQ, all seem to have the same question. "How do I know what frequency I am manipulating since it has no markers at all"? This for me is simple, narrow down one of the five available bands, pull it all the way down and move it left and right until you find the annoying frequency that needs to go.
Despite my efforts to explain this, some people (understandably) still need help with it. So, I have created a small application that runs AOT (always on top). This means that if you have your host application open (Examples could be Acoustica's Beatcraft or Mixcraft), and you have Nyquist EQ open from the effects list, you can drag NQLegend directly under it and then have a reference as to which frequencies you are manipulating.
Maybe someday the developer of Nyquist will add these simple frequency numbers to the plug-in, but for now this works just fine.
Here are two screen shots, on without NQLegend and one with it.
