The endless list of software that will burn a cd is sometimes mind numbing. Which one do I use? Which is the best? Well you pretty much can't go wrong, just pick one and use it. But there are some that stand out to me.
Our choices:
Acoustica Mp3 CD Burner - This is a very unique burner application in that it allows you to manipulate the way the cd is created in many ways. You can overlap songs, leave no silence between tracks and much more. You can create regular music CDs or Mp3 CDs, and choose to use the wizard if you
feel you need to be walked through the process. It is fast, accurate and has a cute little kids voice at the end of session :-) Again, excellent product and well worth the low price tag.
CD Burner XP Pro - This is a great application for burning just about any type of cd, and it's free! The only thing it won't do is copy a cd. I use this one for handing out to my family and friends because it works well and it's free. But I also try to get them to look at a better app like the one above. CD Burner XP Pro also has a pro that not many freebies
can claim, it is spyware free.
DeepBurner - A freeware cd and dvd burner that does a fantastic job on audio and data disks. You can also use it to copy disks or just about any DVD. They also now offer DeepRipper to go along with it, cool!
Droppix Recorder For Towers - Need to record to many burners at once? This is an excellent alternative to buying a disk duplicator. There are three version of Recorder For Towers, the ultimate version allows you to burn to as many drives as you want simultaneously! So load up on USB, Firewire, IDE, SATA burners and buy this software! You can produce your own disks like a pro. The even better part is that is comes with software that allows all the same functions for Lightscribe drives, so you can lightscribe label 20 disks at once if you have the hardware!
Clone CD - This an application strictly for copying CDs or creating images (ISO, BIN, ETC) of them for storage on your hard drive. It works great and is constantly updated. Simple click click use and you have a perfect copy of whatever cd you want copied. Team it up with their other app "AnyDVD" and it will rip through any copy protection I have
come across. (was I supposed to tell you that?)
Of course, Nero and Roxio are great products too, but expensive if you only need a burner.
