This time around we are testing the Modula Pack from Anwida, which is a collection of superior quality modulation effects including phaser, flanger, chorus, tremolo, c-delay and modulated resonant LP/HP filter.
Rather than live drums, this time we used Acoustica's Beatcraft for the drum track. Beatcraft can turn out excellent results if used properly. In this case, we took the "Dry Studio Kit" included with Beatcraft and used nothing but Anwida plug-ins to get it sounding how we wanted.
Once the drums were in place, we went ahead with the usual bass, guitar, guitar, solo, solo, vocal, vocal, vocal.
On the bass we only used the Anwida 31 band eqaulizer, which is plenty to get the bass sounding great.
For rhythm guitars we used the 15 band eq, the parametric eq and DX reverb to get a deep, crunchy tone.
Lead guitars were pretty much the same accept we added some 550-600 ms delay from the Anwida C-Delay unit. This is kept low enough not to overpower the dry guitar, but enough that it makes everything sound very full.
For vocals, we used the 31 band equalizer, the parametric equalizer, spazio for reverb, c-delay for a constant layed back delay, and some nice modulated chorus on the very last "scream" in the song. This really made the climax of the song come alive!
On the final mix we used the Anwida compression unit to smooth things out and render our final audio file.
